Since November 2011, a team of Inrap archaeologists has been excavating a large Solutrean site in Boulazac (Dordogne), near Périgueux. This work, which is curated by the State (Drac, Aquitaine), is taking place in advance of the construction of a waste management and recovery center by the Sita society, a subsidiary of Suez Environment.

An underwater preventive archaeology operation is set to take place on the island of Réunion . It is the first of its kind in France since the preventive archaeology law was voted in 2001.
In Bayeux, on November 29 and 39, 2011, Inrap organized a round-table on "Settlement and land occupation during the Bronze Age and early Iron Age in France” to present the first results of a national survey devoted to this topic.
On the future site of the Seine-North Europe canal, a team of INRAP archaeologists have excavated the Neolithic sites of Villers-Carbonnel, under the curation of the State (Drac Picardie). This excavation, covering a surface of 4.35 hectares, has revealed an exceptional terra cotta statuette 21 cm long. Female representations of this type are very rare in France.
A team of Inrap archaeologists has begun excavating at Famars (Nord) in advance of the construction of the Mont Houy technopole, a 45 hectare technological and scientific activity center.
