In advance of construction work to protect the lower Lez Valley from flooding, a team of Inrap archaeologists is conducting an excavation, curated by the State (Drac Languedoc-Roussillon), of more than two hectares of the eastern part of a large Iron Age village.
A team from the Inrap is at present excavating a site in the avenue Jean-Jaurès, prior to the construction of an underground car-park by the town of Nîmes.
A team from the National Institute for Research in Preventive Archaeology (Inrap) is at present finishing the first set of work in the Puisserguier (Hérault) region.
