Since December 2011, a team of Inrap archaeologists has been excavating the site of the Jacobins convent in Rennes. This work is curated by the State (Drac Burgundy). The site is located in the future location of the Rennes Métropole conference center and is one of the largest urban excavations ever realized in western France.
In the heart of the historic center of Strasbourg, classified as a World Heritage Site, a team of Inrap archaeologists are currently excavating the Place du Château at the foot of the cathedral. This work is curated by the State (Drac Alsace).
A team of Inrap archaeologists is currently excavating part of the Antique port of Antibes (Alpes-Maritimes).
In advance of construction work at the ZAC of Ussol by the city of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (13 Habitat), a preventive excavation, prescribed by the State (Drac Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur), is being conducted at a site at which an Antique villa was discovered during a diagnostic operation.
An Inrap team is at present excavating, curated by the State (Drac - Regional Archaeological Service, Île de France), an important Gaulish site situated on the territory of the Paris Orly airport. This four-hectare site shows traces of occupation from the late Bronze Age (circa 800 BC) but is particularly interesting in revealing an important farm holding dating from the second century BC.
An Inrap team is currently conducting an excavation, under the curation of the State (DRAC Pays-de-la-Loire), of the future location of the Les Jacobins Cultural Center, a project directed by the city of Le Mans. The excavation will proceed in several phases in parallel with the construction work.
For more than six years, several operations of preventive archaeology have been carried out in the centre of Bondy. The successive excavations have revealed, between the Church and the Hôtel de Ville, traces of ancient and medieval occupations, dating from the 3rd to the 11th centuries AD.
The archaeological excavation of the suburb of Arroux, north of Autun, curated by the State (DRAC Bourgogne) in the context of a social housing project, has revealed an Antique quarter composed of craft workshops and fine residences.
